Club Tournament for Philippines Relief
On Sunday evening December 1, 2013, the Catonsville Badminton Club held a special in-house tournament to raise money for the Philippine Red Cross. This money is urgently needed for their extensive relief efforts for victims of Typhoon Haiyan. $200 was raised by the tournament. Two sharp young men, Tauqir Khattak and and state champ Hashem Choudhry won the event and received golden birds as prizes.

The Catonsville Badminton Club is well known for its charitable giving. In addition to supporting special relief efforts, the club routine provides several hundred dollars annually for local high school "after prom" parties and $1000 each year for the past 9 years to the Baltimore Badminton Charity Open. This event supports the American Red Cross relief efforts for local, national and world-wide emergencies.
